AUSTIN (KXAN) — While training to be an obstetrician and gynecologist in Fort Worth, Dr. Danielle Mathisen learned she was pregnant. Her initial excitement sharply turned to heartbreak when she discovered 18 weeks into her pregnancy that her baby had no formed brain structures, only one kidney and a hole in the spine. Mathisen’s doctor told her that the baby was unlikely to survive or would suffocate upon delivery. Mathisen and her husband decided to have an abortion. TAYLOR, Texas (KXAN) — Samsung and leaders from the Taylor Independent School District will break ground Tuesday afternoon on a Career and Technical Education center. It's expected more details will be shared of an expanded partnership between the company and school district. Taylor ISD finds success with Samsung internship program This groundbreaking comes after an already successful partnership between Samsung and Taylor ISD. The company has an internship program with Taylor High School, where students get a first-hand look at the world of tech.Construction is underway on Samsung's multi-billion dollar semiconductor plant in Taylor. State leaders announced two years ago the project would come to Williamson County. At that time, Gov. Greg Abbott said the facility will create more than 2,000 tech jobs, thousands of indirect jobs and a minimum of 6,500 construction jobs.

By BRIAN MELLEY (Associated Press)LONDON (AP) — Police in England arrested a man Tuesday on suspicion of manslaughter in the death of American ice hockey player Adam Johnson, whose neck was cut by a skate during a game.Johnson, 29, was playing for the Nottingham Panthers against the Sheffield Steelers on Oct. 28 when he was struck by an opponent’s skate blade in the Elite Ice Hockey League game at Sheffield’s Utilita Arena.South Yorkshire Police did not name the suspect or provide his age. Amtrak service to Albany to return this week: Mayor Adams

NEW YORK (PIX11) – New York City Eric Adams believes the Amtrak train service will be partially back up and running by Thursday. Services between Albany and New York City were suspended due to structure issues with a privately owned, non-Amtrak garage located above the Empire Line tracks in New York City. ST. LOUIS -- The Missouri Department of Conservation is now stocking St. Louis area lakes with rainbow trout. Nearly 40,000 trout will be stocked in the lakes from November until February. This is an annual program to encourage fishing in the state's more urban areas.The fish are going into nine St. Louis City and County lakes, Union City Lake in Franklin County, and five lakes in the August A. Busch Conservation Area in St. Charles County. Gendron Lake, Jefferson Lake, and Wild Acres Park Lake won't be stocked due to ongoing renovation projects.
