No one knew the location of the checks, which the couple desperately needed to survive.It's been a nightmare for Val Kovac and her husband, Army veteran Michael Martin Kovac. The couple lives at an assisted living center in south St. Louis. They haven’t received Michael’s $2,000-a-month Army pension check since August.The couple moved from their south city home to the assisted living center, and that's when the trouble struck. The city called it a derelict vehicle or, in other words, the plates had expired tags."He knew what my situation was," Stiehr said. Mizzou running back Cody Schraeder wins Bulsworth trophy COLUMBIA, Mo. — Mizzou running back Cody Schrader was awarded with the Bulsworth trophy on Monday evening.The honor is bestowed upon the best FBS college football player who started his career as a walk-on. After spending four seasons at Truman State, Schrader joined Mizzou in 2022 as a walk-on before leading the Tigers in rushing in that season. Mizzou selected for NY6 Cotton Bowl against Ohio State During this season, Schrader has 247 carries for 1,489 yards (6.0 ypc) and 13 touchdowns. 3.5 magnitude earthquake rattles northern Orange County A preliminary 3.5 magnitude earthquake shook the Orange County area Monday evening.The earthquake was reported around 8:09 p.m., about one mile east of Fullerton, according to the United States Geological Survey.Preliminary data from the USGS reported that the earthquake had a depth of about 6.6 miles, and estimated intensity of the shaking was considered "light."An aftershock with a preliminary 2.3 magnitude struck just 20 minutes later in the same area. Additional aftershocks may be likely in the next several hours.
