SCHOHARIE, N.Y. (NEWS10) — Nauman Hussain was sentenced to five to 15 years in prison following victim impact statements at the Schoharie County Court on Wednesday morning. He was convicted on 20 counts of both manslaughter and criminally negligent homicide on Wednesday, May 17, in the fatal limousine crash that killed 20 people in 2018. Judge Peter Lynch sentenced Hussain—the operator of the limo company—to a maximum of 15 years and a minimum of five years on each of the 20 counts. Those terms of imprisonment will run concurrently. He was remanded to police custody, and defense attorney Lee Kindlon plans to file an appeal to maintain appellate rights.The families of the 20 people killed in the crash have waited for nearly five years for this sentence. A rider who apparently suffered a panic attack jumped out of a log while on the Splash Mountain ride just days before it was set to be closed at Disneyland.The video posted Monday night and shared with KTLA by @fatimamusic786 shows an unidentified rider walking down the ride platform after exiting one of the passenger carrying logs. A voice can be heard asking the person what they were doing. "I can't. I'm seriously having a panic attack," the person on the platform says. The person, who did not appear to be injured, was then seen walking down some stairs and exiting the platform. “Can you do that?” a person in the video be heard saying“She just did,” another voice responds. An Apple Valley man has been arrested for his mother's Sunday evening murder, according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department.The victim, 68-year-old Beth Ann Kahkosko, was found in a house in the 15500 block of Sherri Lane just after 7 p.m., the Sheriff's Department said in a news release. Kahkosko sustained "injuries to her head and face" and was pronounced dead at the scene, the release said.Investigators identified Kahkosko's 42-year-old son, Joshua Adam Kahkosko, as the suspect in her killing.
