ALTAMONT, N.Y. (NEWS10) - On Saturday, Christmas Land in Altamont opened for its eighth season. The 60-acre destination is a holiday attraction that invites local families to celebrate the spirit of Christmas. Jill and Cassie become Radio City Rockettes for a day According to Michelle Annese, co-founder of Christmas Land, the attraction is geared "toward all age groups connecting families and communities in bringing back the spirit of Christmas." Christmas Land is open from now until Dec. 17, 2023. NEAR NORTH RIVERFRONT, Mo. – A carjacking occurred in the Near North Riverfront vicinity, involving one victim and two suspects.On November 25 at 6:05 p.m., police responded to a carjacking. The victim stated she pulled her vehicle over to the east curb of N Broadway, and one of the suspects began knocking on her passenger window and pointing at his waistband, indicating a gun. The victim exited the vehicle, and both suspects entered her vehicle before fleeing south on N. Broadway. The victim’s vehicle was later recovered. CENTRAL WEST END, Mo. -- A man was robbed of his cellphone near the Central West End in the 4400 block of Maryland.Around 10:30 p.m. on November 25, the victim reported that he was standing in the Maryland Avenue area when a group of four to five unknown black males, dressed entirely in black with black face masks, approached him. One of the suspects placed a black firearm at his side, and his phone was taken from his hand. The suspects fled. CENTRAL WEST END, Mo. -- A man was robbed while taking out his trash on November 25 around 10 p.m. The 37-year-old victim was tossing out his trash when he was approached by someone asking for the time.The victim said that he was taking out his trash, near 400 block of Boyle, when a black male approached him and inquired about the time. While the victim retrieved his cell phone from his pocket, the suspect produced a handgun and placed it against the victim’s side. Three to four additional suspects ran up to the victim, took his property, and patted him down. The victim reported that the suspects fled north on Boyle. DUTCHTOWN, Mo. -- Police responded to a carjacking in Dutchtown where the victim was driving around with an acquaintance and two individuals who eventually carjacked the victim.On November 25, around 11 p.m., the victim reported that he was driving around with an acquaintance and two unknown suspects. While parked in the 4000 block of Giles, the suspects displayed handguns and demanded the victim hand over his keys. The unknown females ordered the victim out of his vehicle, a blue 2011 GMC Terrain, at gunpoint and drove south on Giles. On November 26 around 12:30 a.m., according to the victim, she was walking to the front door of her residence when the suspect approached her from behind, holding a gun. Three Palestinian students were shot in Burlington, Vermont on Saturday evening, according to local authorities. All of the victims were 20-year-old men, according to the Burlington Free Press. They are college students visiting the home of one of the victim’s relatives for Thanksgiving, local police said. Two of the men were wearing keffiyehs, which is a type of scarf worn in many Middle Eastern cultures, when they were assaulted, the Burlington Free Press said.
