Like much of the summer, it seems hard to string together back to back beautiful days across New England this September, and tomorrow will be no exception. After a stellar Sunday, more rain returns Monday as we track more wet weather heading into the region. Scattered showers move in by daybreak and the coverage area of rain increases through the afternoon. In fact, by mid afternoon to early in the evening, we’ll watch the potential of embedded downpours to cause localized street flooding and rapid stream rises. Certainly, the rain has the potential to slow down the evening commute as some of the heaviest bands more through during that time. Generally, 1-2″ of rain will fall, with the heaviest across Southeast Mass, where localized 3″ amounts are possible. It’ll be a very muggy day too as that humidity fuels some heavy rains. Despite the weather going downhill significantly tomorrow, we turn it around quickly on Tuesday as sunshine and comfortable amounts of ...End of summer brings sunny and dry days, pleasant weekend weather ahead

It’s going to be a cloudy rainy day, pretty much all day,” Dunham said. The NWS is forecasting the potential for showers before 5 a.m. on Monday, but by midday the chance of precipitation will reach 90% and up to three-quarters of an inch of rainfall is possible. Dunham said the rain will come with a light breeze off the ocean and that temperatures likely won’t break the 70 degree mark. With the mercury falling into the upper 50s overnight, it’s likely showers carrying into Monday evening will taper off before midnight, when the NWS forecasts the mix of wet weather and cold could cause a patchy fog that persists into v...Devers makes Red Sox history with Hail Mary home run but can’t prevent Blue Jays sweep

How many times have the Red Sox lost to themselves more than their actual opponent?Add Sunday’s 3-2 loss to the Toronto Blue Jays to a list that feels endless. For the vast majority of this Red Sox season, pitching has been the problem. If only the starters were healthier, more effective at keeping runners off the bases and the ball in the yard, pitching deeper into games. How much better would this team be if their pitchers – who entered Sunday averaging an American League fifth-worst 4.85 runs allowed per game – were better partners to their lineup, whose 4.93 runs scored per game ranked fifth-best in their league? In terms of plating runs, the Red Sox offense ranks just below four postseason teams: the Texas Rangers, Tampa Bay Rays, Houston Astros, and Baltimore Orioles. The Blue Jays entered Sunday’s series finale just below AL-average (4.59) with 4.54 runs per game, and the most runners left on base of any team in their league (1,077).The company Boston’s pitching staff keeps pai...2 pilots killed after their planes collided upon landing at air races in Reno, Nevada
