Man critically injured in daytime shooting in Keelesdale neighbourhood A man suffered life-threatening injuries after being shot in the Keelesdale neighbourhood of the city. Police say they were called to an apartment building on Clearview Heights, near Eglinton Avenue West and Black Creek Drive, just before 5 p.m. Saturday. Body found in Lady Bird Lake near Longhorn Dam AUSTIN (KXAN) — Officials said a person was found dead near Longhorn Dam on Saturday afternoon.Austin-Travis County EMS said it was called to the scene at 1:18 p.m. where an adult was pronounced dead. AFD said the call was in the 70 block of Pleasant Valley Road near Longhorn Dam. PREVIOUS: City to focus on safety near Rainey Street after recent deaths Austin Police Department told KXAN it was still determining whether the death was suspicious or not. Longhorn Dam is not next to the area where the city increased safety measures following two recent drownings near Lady Bird Lake and Rainey Street. Police said there is no evidence of foul play in these deaths. Increased patrols began last weekend. APD Assistant Chief Jeff Greenwalt told KXAN officers performed standard downtown duties like breaking up fights and, in one instance, helped a group find their friend they hadn't been able to find for a couple of hours.This is a developing story.
