AUSTIN (KXAN) — A man accused of capital murder of a peace officer or fireman was found to be incompetent to stand trial on May 10, according to Travis County court documents. AUSTIN (KXAN) — Austin Police said detectives were searching for a woman in connection with several Austin vehicle burglaries.APD said the burglaries occurred along Mount Bonnell. The woman was also suspected of being involved in credit card abuse at multiple Austin area locations.Police described the suspect as a Black woman in her early 20s with a medium build. Leaders of the Florida-based craft beer bar franchise think Austin is next in line for significant growth.There are already 11 locations of Brass Tap open in DFW, with two more on the way and more than 30 franchise deals signed, according to CEO Chris Elliott. AUSTIN (KXAN) — Travis County court documents showed a man was sentenced Aug. 17 in connection with a June 2020 north Austin incident, which ultimately led to the death of a 68-year-old man Austin man.Court records showed Marquis Davis, 18 at the time of the incident, pleaded guilty to a robbery charge, a second-degree felony, and he was sentenced to serve 18 years in state prison. AUSTIN (Nexstar) -- In his first lawsuit since returning to office, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton is seeking damages from the business review giant Yelp for what he calls deceptive business practices harming crisis pregnancy centers.Crisis pregnancy centers offer women and families pregnancy support. AUSTIN (KXAN) -- The Austin Police Department is seeking the public's help finding a person of interest in connection to the stabbing of a minor in downtown Austin early Thursday, the agency said in a news release.At approximately 5:40 a.m., 911 dispatch received an urgent service call in the 200 block of West Avenue, according to police. Officers and Austin-Travis County EMS responded to the scene and found a victim with stab wounds.In a social media post, the Austin Police Association said a minor was on his way to work near the Seaholm District and was "brutally attacked" by the suspect. The members of People’s Congregational Church on Wednesday night approved the first step in a plan to sell a 10-acre property on the western edge of Bayport to the Stillwater Area Public School District, a move that could pave the way for a new Andersen Elementary School to be built on the site.A majority of the 100-member congregation voted to authorize a non-binding letter of intent to negotiate the sale of the property, known as People’s Park, said Paul Spilseth, the church’s moderator.
